Dear Panda Hawks,

As I only heard back from two people (and now also have some family plans), there will be no advancement outing on Sunday Jan. 5.

On Monday night Jan. 6, we will be having a winter camping packing demonstration - useful information for the 3 upcoming winter trips (Massawepie Winter Challenge, Klondike Derby, and Tug Hill). I HIGHLY encourage your sons to sign up for Klondike Derby and Tug Hill if they have not already done so. I've attached an article from Boys Life about winter camping for those of you not familiar with it.

I am waiting to hear back from SPL Will about the plans for the next two Monday meetings. We will most likely be working on Scout skills/advancement during this time.

ASM Mike Scharf has suggested a series of themes with associated advancement requirements, so we will be picking from them for Jan, Feb., and March. I've listed them below - so please let me know if you have a favorite!

I'll be back in touch this weekend. Please check your emails. i will also post the information in the First Year Scout Program on the website.
